The Venice Police Department is requesting your help. The Sawgrass and Waterford communities around Edmondson Rd. as well as the Country Club Blvd. / Gulf Coast Blvd. areas of the City have been the target of a recent string of burglaries. The suspect(s) are selecting the more expensive items like jewelry, cash and coin currency.

If you or someone you know live in these communities, Please be observant of unusual behavior, vehicles or unfamiliar people and report these incidents to law enforcement immediately. If you have specific information as to who may be committing these crimes, you can be anonymous and be eligible for a reward by leaving your tip here, just click the “Give a Tip" button at the left- OR- by contacting us at 941-366-8477.

Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: fear and apathy.

Crime Stoppers provides an anonymous, tip line and Web Tips to encourage citizens in the community to volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies to fight against crime.

Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1000 if the information given leads to an arrest of a fugitive or solves an unsolved crime in which either an arrest is made.

Monies to fund the Crime Stoppers Reward Program comes from people like you... and businesses... special events... the Crime Stoppers Trust Fund...and special law enforcement funds (related to repossessed property and forfeiture sales).

We do not receive any government funding. Your taxes do not pay for Crime Stoppers. This is truly a community-based program...
